Thank you for sharing your perspective on your time at Brooks. It sounds like Brooks hit a high mark for you in many respects, particularly in the areas of culture, training and connectedness, and I’m proud of that. As for growth opportunities and pay, these are often very situational and personal, and we try our best to meet employees’ needs. Regarding pay, every year we consult third-party market data to benchmark each role at Brooks to ensure salaries remain competitive in our industry and against similar companies. Other benefits unique to Brooks, such as our annual bonus program, PTO policy, flex work, 401k, gear/race discounts and more, make our total compensation package both competitive and compelling. On opportunity, more than a third of all open positions in 2019 were filled internally—a great outcome for many. But for a company our size, this is not always possible. Sometimes the scope or expertise required for an open role is not something we have been able to develop inside our teams and we must look to outside talent. As well, some departments simply have more growth opportunities than others depending on the needs of the business as we scale. The function you represented was adequately staffed during your time with Brooks. I am grateful to you for spending a chapter of your life with Brooks, and I wish you the best on your journey ahead. It is always our goal to make Brooks a place where every employee feels welcome, respected and able to contribute his or her best self. I'm troubled to hear your personal experience at Brooks wasn't positive. Every employee’s manager matters and at Brooks we have never been more intentional and proactive about training all our leaders to be more effective every day. In fact, this week we're launching the most comprehensive people manager development training we’ve ever provided at Brooks. Targeting all managers (including me!), the training’s 5-day curriculum covers topics like morale, behavior styles, listening skills, and creating a positive and professional workplace. Our goal is to level set understanding and expectations regarding appropriate manager behaviors so we can lead and support our employees with respect, intention and consistency across the company. It won’t create perfection overnight, but I think it will be a giant step in the right direction. We can all be better at leading and working as a team. I think it's an extremely exciting and dynamic time to be part of Brooks. The growth we've seen in the market with runners choosing our brand and our products has been leading our industry. None of it would be possible without execution excellence from the passionate, talented and hard-working people of Brooks around the globe. I wish you all the best in your next chapter. Jim
