Growth-Driven Culture with Real Opportunities

Pros

What I’ve really come to value at BrowserStack is how seriously growth is taken. The team culture encourages learning and upskilling, not just in words, but through actual structures like IJPs that make it easy to move across teams or roles. I’ve personally seen peers (and myself) not stay boxed into one function. There’s room to explore, experiment, and pivot, and managers here are generally open to that.

Cons

It’s not without its challenges, if you're proactive and intentional about your growth, there are multiple paths to move forward.

Pros

1. Lot of learning 2. Flexibility - WFH 3. Fast paced 4. Responsive, ownership based culture

Cons

Some managers who have been there for >5 years have been promoted due to being at the right place at the right time, and have absolutely no managerial skills. Extremely toxic, rude, abusive, incompetent, fake deadlines to create urgency, love playing the blame game. There is no concept of 360 degree feedback, so you have to keep eating up the abuse. This company needs to start firing some managers - especially look at the ones who have been here for more than 5 years.

Not a place for learning and growth

Pros

- Remote work is very helpful for new parents, people who move to their hometowns, etc - Compensation is competitive with clear bonus structures

Cons

- Managers are at heart just individual contributors who got a promotion. There are no people skills, mentorship abilities, or investment in your growth. There’s no company loyalty employees can develop when every conversation is just execution-focused - While remote work is a great perk, it also means that people in this role tend to be quite disconnected. Either the culture turns people into this or people without the right managerial skills are attracted to a setup like this - Visibility for individual contribution is very limited. The structure is very hierarchical so higher ups are only aware of your work through your manager. Managers themselves tend to take most credit and point fingers for blame, so it’s difficult to get any recognition through the system I’ve been part of companies that are demanding and stressful, but I’ve never felt the level of disconnect and lack of visibility that I’ve experienced at BrowserStack.

Pros

The product platform vision is a great future to work towards. Product trainings are very detailed and the managers super helpful to onboard you to the tech.

Cons

The initial onboarding can be a bit overwhelming, but the team helps you sail through.

Pros

Great culture and worth working long term especially if you have a great manager and the average tenure is 3+ years. Solid product and profitable and will IPO in another 2-3 years

Cons

Tripled the product portfolio and the newer products aren’t selling as expected. Difficult for sales reps to make entire CTC as core products have been saturated across the board
