Pros

Decent pay, good discount (especially during sale season), stable client base (results in consistent paychecks), and quality luxury company.

Cons

Opportunities for promotion can be difficult. Lots of hiring comes from employee recommendations, which can make it hard to get in if you don't know anyone (or if you don't have a great resume). Hours for PT employees can be unreliable. Competitive environment often makes for drama between sales associates.

Pros

Understanding luxury clientele, having access to fashion trends, gaining a greater insight into the sourcing of materials and factories (i.e. Experiencing the product difference from made in China vs made in England materials)

Cons

There is little to no growth within the company. There are very few US stores and the pay is minimal. Operationally, the company has serious flaws. Paychecks were consistently incorrect, benefit plans have had completely incorrect information, the internal software and resources provided constantly crashed, making it very problematic to assist customers in a timely fashion. Overall, I would classify any retail position as a filler position. Be mindful that this is not a very progressive company, and the emphasis is completely sales based. You could bring innovation and passion everyday, but those ideas will fall on deaf ears if your particular store isn't making forecast. This sales based metrics measurements creates tension amongst associates trying to make goals.

Pros

Employees are loyal to promoting and developing the brand image. Management is friendly and promotes innovation, creative thinking and cohesiveness. Company tries to remain technologically advanced externally. Majority of employees are friendly and cooperative. Company provides employee perks – free lunch, clothing allowance and is deeply involved in charitable events.

Cons

Due to open work environment – at times leads to lack of privacy. Internal systems are slow, creates additional errors and technologically overburdened. Due to competitive environment, need for further respect of coworkers differences, abilities and need for further constructive communication. Some employees adhered to bullying (ie: screaming negative personal comments/ opinions across the room). This behavior should not be tolerated and undermines the forward thinking, innovative environment which management tries to promote.
