Great product! Interesting environment, great company values

Cons

Very chaotic and stressful environment. Lack of systems means work/life balance is non-existent unless you are in upper management or a manufacturing employee. Very difficult to take any vacation. Although it is not explicitly stated, people at all levels are expected to be on call 7 days/week and 18 hours per day. Expect to work on weekends, nights, holidays, vacation days for months/years without a break. Few people in the company actually get to work M-F 9-5. Some departments are very clique-y. People are nice but there is a lot of petty in-fighting and competitiveness. Not what it used to be.

A job with benefits until you find a better one.

Cons

The pay is not great. Company makes a lot of money, but their greediness overrrides their employees happiness. Low employee morale-mgmt more concerned about putting work out than paying attn to employees needs. Like working in a sweatshop. The majority of mfg workers cannot speak nor understand a bit of English!

Burt's Bees was for the most part almost a dream job to me. It was a great collaborative atmosphere, and I felt that my team supported each other and worked well together. I grew immensely at the company, gaining responsibility and having a manager that learned my skills and honed in on them with the opportunities she presented me. We worked in a beautiful building in Downtown Durham and we always had events happening for Burt's Bees employees to promote the culture

Cons

After the transition to Clorox's ERP system, there was a decline in employee satisfaction, and we lost quite a bit of our support staff because of it. Management was replaced by existing Clorox employees, sometimes making me feel that the the integrity of the brand was in jeopardy.
