Burts Bees is a great place to work. They offer a great work environment. The pride themselves in working for the greater good.

Cons

The company is growing so fast since being acquired by Clorox, that communication can sometimes get lost

The products are good. The company is committed to its natural values and to giving back to the community.

Cons

The soul of Burt's Bees is gone and has been replaced by fear and infighting since we have become completely integrated with Clorox. This is no longer a collaborative environment; there is no longer any trust. New members of leadership join from Clorox, but refuse to relocate.

FIrst 5 years mediocre however last year has been great. Old money grubbing Private Equity folks are out..new blood in.

Pros

Authentic company that is driven by real values. Folks who care about the products, people and the planet. Over the last year we have had a change in senior leadership and they are actually making positive changes. Former leaders who were Private Equity based talked a good game but it was all talk. Founders and Private Equity leaders chased the dollars and made themselves rich and the rank and file suffered. New leaders seem genuine and care about people/employees first and actually LISTEN and are making positive changes. Finally we have females on leadership teams.

Cons

Only downside is the location..Durham NC is a bit boring for a single person..very college or family oriented..
