I love the actual work I do as a BCBA, this company didn't provide the resources to provide the services they're cashing in on

While it pains me to believe that someone does not see or feel the passion and compassion that I myself and others feel and exhibit in support of the Butterfly Effects Mission, I appreciate your feedback in recognizing that we have more work to do in building the culture in all remote corners of our field operations. Quality is always forefront and is reflected in the lower than standard productivity expectations across the industry. Our regulatory audits and team member engagement surveys and parent satisfaction scores paint a very different picture of our high ethical standards. I am disappointed that your experience was not as intended for all team members. I wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

Butterfly Effects is a unique place to work in the fact that it is growing so fast and its ability to reach a niche market is very impressive. What makes this company unique is it president's vision and belief in the company's mission. I have not worked with a company that the mission is so apparent in what decisions are made. The staff at Butterfly Effects works hard and tries their best in a high volume fast paced environment. With a company that grows comes the opportunity to take on new roles and responsibility. They try their very best to acknowledge people that go above and beyond in their daily roles. Unfortunately many are not able to maintain this level of performance because upper management does not offer support for the projects you are working on.

Cons

Sometime I felt as though process and procedures were not fully fleshed out. When a company grows so quickly it sometimes becomes a race to the next goal without conscious decision toward how we will achieve/ maintain our service they offer. To be honest though, Butterfly Effects recognizes this and I believe they are really putting some effort into their internal structure to support this growth. The benefits that are offered to employees are less than par in my experience. Insurance is expense and not substantial. Butterfly Effects is more than successful enough to be able to offer better option. Payed time off is almost non existent under their current benefits structure. It is a pooled Sick/Vacation time but they amounts are very low considering how hard we all work and the rate of high stress environment we worked in.

Thank you for your insightful and obviously well thought-out posting. Building a brand and a company in a complex health care system that is emerging, from the private pay world into the big leagues of commercial payers and state and Federal mandates, with accompanying regulations is an interesting proposition. My years of experience have demonstrated that growing health care companies want it all - and to tackle it all at the same time. From clinical competency and expertise, training and professional development, to extensive team member benefits and client/family resources. The strategic plan is well constructed with great respect maintained in listening to team members and parents in order to transform the company and industry; however, as with all great adventures, ABA Therapy is not without unexpected changes requiring a shift in direction. All in all, that means we cannot do everything all at once...even though we try! We try because it is all about the client, access to services, and fulfilling the needs of the entire team where the client and family reside in the center. I take personally that you felt you were pushing the boulder all alone, as that is never the expectation or intention. We continue to add to both our local and national resources, as you recognized. Thank you for sharing your insights and suggestions.

Pros

Flexible schedule, families are wonderful and kids are amazing to work with, medium pay rate.

Cons

VERY few hours, hiring process takes months and months, no autonomy, zero benefits, very little room for growth. If you have enough income to last you 3-4 months during the hiring process (for which you will not work, or you will "train" for maybe 8 hours within those 4 months) then this is the company for you. If you can afford the out of pocket pay to become a certified RBT, then this is the job for you. Also, if you can live off of $500 a month, then this is the company for you, because that's about what your income will look like because of the lack of hours.
