Pros

Good support for telecommuters; treats experienced engineers almost as well as equivalent managers. Tends to be fairly generous with compensation for experienced/top personnel. Interesting technical work; some extremely experienced staff (20 years experience not unusual). "Big customers that are willing to pay big bucks for big solutions." Good training allocations, although internal is strongly preferred to external training.

Cons

Horrible (but improving) industry rep. Huge amounts of legacy software. Peculiar corporate culture in transition to a more "IBMish" style. Can be oddly cheap or confused at times, although there are a number of projects underway to address such problems.

Pros

Good exposure to latest technology. The company provides on site day care at most big office locations. Currently the company seems to be growing at a decent rate and the employee morale is getting better. Most managers are understandign and help employees balance a decent work life balance. They also are open to letting employees work from in case of emergency.

Cons

The company vision not shared by employees. The middle management is more technology oriented and not greared towards better leadership. Stock options not given to all employees but only to select employees. There should be better training and awards for excellece in performance. The compensation package is lower than the rest of the industry for similar jobs. There is no centralized method of promoting talent from within the company so as to clearly define career paths. The managers should be responsible to boost employee morale.

Great building and parking available. Gym is brilliant. If you have no career plans , then this is a great place to work. But if you aspire to want more from a job, then it all depends on who you know. This is what will get you somewhere in CA.

Cons

No career prospects unless you mingle with senior management.
