Pros

Teammates / peers are the best I've ever worked with in my career.

Cons

Meaningless annual raises don't keep up with cost of living increases. CDK admitted they haven't done a salary survey in 5 years, so vastly underpaid for the market. As time goes by, they ask more and more of the employees, while taking away benefits and perks. Laughable response from HR on issues, if you get a response. Nearly hostile responses when needing help with benefits administration. Pointless internal certifications that are meaningless outside of the company. A client base that is traditionally not tech savvy - moving from phone support to online / chat support is causing a lot of discord with clients. In recent years this company stopped appreciating experience, and unless you're a millennial and /or someone who doesn't question things for the better of the client, they find some reason to make your life hell there. Very confusing tools to use behind the scenes.

A rapidly sinking ship

Pros

Tenured Associates knew their products, knew how to support them, and knew how to treat our clients with respect.

Cons

I worked for CDK ( and prior to that ADP) for nearly twenty years. During that time I worked in support, in client and associate training, and in product and project management. Prior to the spinoff this was one of the best companies around. When the spinoff occurred and new management was brought in, all things changed. Tenured associates are now laid off in waves of 500+, support staff is now pretty much based in India where tenure and knowledge levels are years less than in the U.S, and treating the client well is overlooked. The main objective of upper management is to cut costs with the thought it will drive up stock price, or fatten their wallets when the company is sold. The company is a hollow shell of what it once was. New products/programs are promised to our clients before they are fully developed and tested. Many clients now hire their own staff to support programming, as CDK client customer service reps don't have the knowledge to be helpful.

Pros

Work independently with clients. Responsible for my own work.

Cons

Products are lacking Quality Support as the company is shifting to India. Takes too long to satisfy Client issues and fixing the problem. Every answer is “This is a Known Product Defect, We are working on it!” Continually have to defend the Software issues and Support. Have let the best support people go and outsourced those jobs to India.
