Pros

You meet a lot of great people your age if you're right out of college/in your 20s. Don't let any of the rest of this review take away from this point. I met some of the best people here. You'll get used to working 9-5 (aka 8:30-5:30 because the CEO is inconsiderate). You gain experience in IT solutions if you apply yourself, AND ONLY if you apply yourself. There is little actually pertinent training given by higher ups. You learn to stand up for yourself because there is NO HR DEPARTMENT, and your Team Lead will most likely belittle/harass you at some point. If you keep your head high, try to learn as much as you can, and stay diligent you can be out of there in less than a year to a company that cares about you and will compensate you for it.

Cons

NO HR DEPARTMENT which is extremely illegal for a company with over $5 Billion in revenue. The pay is extremely below market average for the same position elsewhere. There is very little relevant training unless you make the training happen yourself, AKA we had to set up weekly trainings ourselves (as just Account Representatives) so that we could learn the industry. There is no accountability for team leads, directors, or even the CEO. At one point he (CEO) screamed at the top of his lungs to an entire section of the building to get off their phones (there were about 5 people using their cells at the time), and there was no apology given to employees.

Pros

-work from home opportunity depending on what job you have -trip incentives, gift cards (to make up for the low pay) -gain experience

Cons

-all the bad reviews are 100% true -the pay is extremely low, that is the biggest con for this company. It is not even worth it. there are so many other entry-level opportunities out there that pay a lot more. keep looking.

Not great, kind of terrible

Pros

Perks: -team outings - happy hour during busy season (free beer on fridays in September) - pies on holidays - Guy's Night/Shoe Day ($200 gc, dependent on whether sales meets their goals) - Ultimate Bar Tab ($200 gift card, dependent on whether sales meets their goals) - Yearly Trip to somewhere in the Caribbean (dependent on whether sales meets their goals) Opportunities for leadership roles immediately, depending on which team you are placed and how short-handed they are (most are) There is a drinking-heavy culture here, so if you are looking to screw around for a while and coast, this might be the place for you. Health Insurance 401 K (***DISCLAIMER*** - the company matches 1/2 of what your contribute, BUT only if you stay for 2 full years, otherwise Carahsoft removes its contribution)

Cons

There are many, but this is the highlight: low, low pay for long hours and little to no direction. Most employees are fresh out of college, and Carahsoft capitalizes on this by paying about $10K - $20K less than other companies for the same work. The turnover is HIGH, so no one really know what they're doing and you are thrown into total chaos. The training for the most part is a joke, and you must rely on yourself to figure out what your actual job is, and what needs to get done, Management is all over the place, and many teams are left lacking leadership and organization. The "perks" are merely thinly-veiled attempts to distract Carahsoft's team of former frat boys and srat queens from the fact that they are being used and abused. The company makes $5 billion a year, yet 85% (guesstimate) of the company makes between $30K & $40K annually... The best part are the MBOs, which are a "monthly bonus," but actually aren't bonuses at all. Turns out that your MBO is built into your salary, but Carahsoft can and will withhold it from you if your manager believes that you haven't met your monthly goals. So, potentially, they can pay you less than the salary you agreed upon. Oh, and there is no HR. So if you are being mistreated by upper management, sexually harassed, paid incorrectly, or anything else terrible you can think of, you are SCREWED. Don't take a job here unless this is your only option.
