CareSource Pros and Cons

Pros

There are many great benefits to CareSource. Some that are standard: 401k matching (up to 6%), PTO accrual (just shy of 1 full day accumulated per period, increases with tenure), health insurance, and a multitude of employee discounts from dry cleaning to phone plans to theater tickets. And some that are not so standard: most office buildings have gym access, a café of sorts, parking is included (paid for by company when required), access to learning opportunities through CareSource University, tuition reimbursement, a healthy incentive program and more that I'm forgetting. Your position and workload may differ from mine (true for any company!) but I think the culture as a whole aims to provide inclusion and an empathetic view not only to our members but to each other. That's rare in a company.

Cons

We are a healthcare company - in a world that can't make up it's mind about healthcare. That translates to...CHANGE. To be successful at CareSource you must have positive coping skills, you must be adaptable to the changing rules and regulations that govern how our roles operate, and you must be transparent with your communication. Also, remember that at the end of the day we are all human. You won't love every coworker or every boss and that's okay - their strengths show up differently than your own, it doesn't make them wrong it just makes them different. A lot of the reviews on here seem to reflect an opinion on someone's character and not actually the company as a whole.

It's okay, I guess

Pros

Pay is decent, though the call center employees make even less than their receptionists in HQ do. They do offer an okay amount of overtime.

Cons

Never have I ever been so suicidal as I am working in the call center for this company. They make a great to-do about their members, but consistently ignore the needs of their employees, especially those in the call center. If you or your children are prone to being sick, pass this job up, because they do not accept doctor's notes and after so many "occurrences" they have grounds for termination, regardless of what kind of illness you or your children have.

Pros

Fantastic Culture and Benefits. Loved having a workout facility in the office!

Cons

12.03/hr for an experienced CSR. Difficult to bonus. Penalized for going to the bathroom more than 5 min per day
