This job has given me nothing to list as a Pro, besides being able to help children. :-/

Cons

I spend all of my waking hours either thinking about work, or doing work. My life has now been tormented with thoughts of what my clients are doing, when I have to call to check up, and how I am going to learn and get all of this work done.

Pros

Great paid vacations and many holidays given. People are very laid back and many of your coworkers will really be there for the families we worked with.

Cons

Horrible management that give no support to case managers. Many case planners there do not care about their families and make your life harder than it needs to be. Workers are not paid enough for all they do.

Pros

Working with the children is very rewarding and there are some helpful trainings. Benefits are decent and you can accrue comp time.

Cons

A very toxic work environment and too many territory issues. The culture is not about collaboration whatsoever, which is what one should expect in a foster care agency. Youth are caught in the middle of the insanity of the environment and staff's quick burnout due to lack of support. The pay is ridiculously low for the amount of work that is expected of you!!!! There is also a lot of stigma around mental illness and staff are not appropriately trained to handle these children and families with the empathy and kindness they deserve.
