Pros

This job gives you a great oppurtunity to learn how to sell. While the job is difficult, they dont lie about that. The pay is great too. IF you work. All the complaints are from people who want an easy job with no responsibility. There is a huge wealth of information and tools available to any employee. They have the best implementation system for the product they sell. So you can rest your head on your pillow at night knowing that the product will work and help out the business owners you sell it to. The benefits are great and the environment could not be better.

Cons

The first 6 months require a pretty heavy dedication to the job. But since most of the employees are just out of college this shouldnt be a huge turn off. When you get the hang of it, the job does itself.

Pros

Benefits-PTO (when allowed to use it) sick days, health benefits

Cons

Cold calling, cold calling and more cold calling. Get yelled at and thrown out of buildings. Cbeyond is known for heavy soliciting and chances are your territory will have previously been hit by multiple reps (all that started and quit in the past 6 months) making it very difficult for you to get your foot in the door. High turnover... most people quit in the first 3 months because they realize what a joke this company is. The few people who stay with the company long term are the types who are only out for themselves... Since the retention is so low it is pretty easy to get promoted which means the managers are hired simply for being there, not because of their ability to manage employees.

Pros

They will hire anyone willing to start as an entry level outside sales rep. The product lineup is updated often enough to stay ahead of the competition. Cbeyond has a culture of promotion from within. Cbeyond runs a lot of contests to keep the reps motivated to sell.

Cons

Turnover is about 100% month to month. They hire an average of 12 new reps every month and on average, about 12 sales reps leave the company each month. Gas allowance is about $150 to $200 per month for driving about 2000+ miles each month. Reps are hyper-micro managed in all aspects of the job and are expected to work 7:30am until 7pm. Employee morale is VERY LOW - probably the lowest I've ever seen in any job I've ever worked. Management is very unprofessional. Yelling, horseplay, etc. are all commonplace in management meetings, during telemarketing time, etc.
