Pros

Met some really nice people there. They have great benefits pkgs.

Cons

This was really a bill collections job with a 'hard push' to sell Home Service Plus. The customers of any utility (particularly CP) resent having to pay for gas. The customer is already upset and aggressive and not at all agreeable to paying their bills. The shifts were hard to get buses from downtown and the parking was 25$ per day. The 'matrix' of how long you spend on each call and zero back from supervisors was horrible. Not allowed to 'end a call' no matter how abusive the customer was. Then leadership would roll over in 10 seconds doing what we the employees were NOT allowed to do. I can honestly say I was never so unhappy at a place of work as I was here.

Pros

Your benefits starts the day you start. All departments outside of customer service are great!

Cons

Management shows favoritism, they retaliate, belittle you, very unprofessional, hostile work environment, low moral. Very low pay for what you endure. They truly treat you slaves! Very inconsiderate to those with a family or if you're a single parent. If they need mandatory OT you have to work it. This is the worst customer service department I've ever worked for. They pay you in points for sales, but in MN they pay their CNP Customer Service Employees cash. Management sleeps around with leads and agents. It is truly a job from hell. They don't care about you as an employee, just the numbers!

Pros

Stable Company and Quick Lunch Options. Good company to work for if you are not a Customer Service Representative in the call center.

Cons

Call center environment with high call volume so you will be tied to your chair for 8 hours with no break except for lunch. Another con is 90% of the calls are from nasty customers upset that they have been disconnected for nonpayment. Even if you have thick skin, it will get to you as each and everyday is taking call from upset people who will cuss you out when you have to uphold the company policies. Its was a rule that we could not disconnect from any caller no matter how disrespectful or name calling they did. I consider myself a very patient and helpful customer service representative but being called the "B..." word & other nasty language is unacceptable and its done because the gas customer knows they say anything and we can not disconnect the call from them.
