You can learn about cloud computing and other newer technologies. Great for padding your resume with good and useful knowledge.... Annual employee BBQ and Christmas party that are highly encouged not to miss.
Cons
Older (higher paid) workers are put on performance improvement plans to eliminate headcount/costs when budgets get tight as they are now. Look around for older IT workers when interviewing there. Only find a couple... You'll not receive severance pay even after several years of good written performance reviews and department forced rankings. High annual employee turn over rates (25% in some business units) ... only a few people last more than a few years - consider this as a good stepping stone to the next career step for yourself. . Nashville IT generally unappreciated by local exec IT who expects a zero work-life balance. Several of us worked 65-70 hours/week on projects with next to zero senior local senior IT management appreciation. Application conversion to cloud is going poorly so ask lots of questions during your interview or you can be the assigned scapegoat if you do ask a question. Other non-IT business units are much, much better working environments.
