Pros

During non-pandemic times it’s a good retail job. More empowering than most.

Cons

The almighty dollar is more important than the safety and heath of the store level workers. Our forced reopening during a global pandemic while the numbers do not support safe working conditions show how little we are appreciated. These decisions are being made by the Powers That Be who are safe in their ivory tower in Ft Meyers. The risk is being carried on OUR backs, not theirs.

Thank you for posting your comments. As a Company, we are experiencing one of the most difficult retail environments ever. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has challenged our business operations causing the Company to take unanticipated actions to secure the long-term stability of Chico’s FAS, including the temporary closure of our stores. Although we immediately pivoted to provide an amazing and robust online experience for our customers, the loss of in-store sales has significantly impacted our business. Though we are now positioned to begin a gradual, phased-in reopening of stores, the health and safety of our Associates is our primary concern. All store re-openings are compliant with Federal, State and Local COVID-19 regulations and guidelines. We are working diligently to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace. This includes providing masks, gloves, cleaning and disinfecting supplies throughout the premises; implementing social distancing measures such as: advising Associates to keep at least 6 feet of distance between each other and customers; establishing rigorous processes for handling merchandise, mail and shipments; and staggering Associates’ schedules where possible. We have also established health and safety protocols for Associates returning to the workplace. Our goal has been, and continues to be, not only to survive these trying times, but to thrive as the Company that always provides the Most Amazing Personal Service to everyone. We look forward to rebuilding the organization.

Pros

Customer loyalty-relationships-associate relations. Pay is good for Management

Cons

Upper management is delusional. Payroll limited and cannot get all of the task completed. NO work life balance. Can 't take PTO as you choose-events come up or its the last weekend of the month....Focus is more on obtaining onlin shoppers-discount often better than frontline. They buy online and return to frontline which consumes associates time processing returns. DEHUMANIZING what Chicos roots were- providing MAPS. Hard to hire B/C rates not competitive and job requires more work than other stores in the mall/center. Task expectations interfere with servicing customers-become a distribution center. Merchandise is not appealing and keeps repeating similar looks over and over again. Hard to sell when they have something similar. Upper management does not listen to concerns and if they do, they do nothing in response to help the field. Email, call, email, call.....it's getting old. Hire an outside company to do that so the associates in the store can focus on foot traffic. Too many things to complete on the PC. Talent Journey, succession planning....I mean come on let's face it, we sell tops and bottoms. It is NOT brain surgery. No-one ever celebrates success. Its just onto the next month where your team is supposed to plan events, call campaigns, etc. ALL with limited coverage. So you choose. You choose to take someone OFF the floor to work on TRYING to get people in....OR you PRETEND to have done the call campaign and service the people IN your store with money in hand! You get rated on feedback that most of the time is OUT OF THE STORES control-it's a joke! They hound you about Everything but can't figure out solutions. LUDACRIS.

Pros

Exciting place to work. Love assisting with any task. Love the customer base. Really enjoy seeing and being a part of such a fun Company!

Cons

Technology needs to be improved. Cash registers go down and some of our busiest time. Fortunately our customers simply keep shopping and don't seem to be annoyed by this.
