Pros

Christian workplace with a friendly staff, and you're not chastised for practicing your Christian faith. Most of the staff is dedicated to their job and they want to see the ministry succeed and satisfy the membership needs.

Cons

Decisions are constantly being made without much analysis as to the choices made. Priorities are typically given to the "Tyranny of the Urgent". Little or no management future planning is made. Making knee jerk reactions and decisions without any consideration how changes will affect the downstream ministry process. People are kept in a constant fire fighting mode. More attention is given to pet projects than the day to day mainstream business processing that keeps the ministry alive and running.

Life Changing pay cuts

Pros

This organization offers an alternative to typical health care insurance. It is affordable to the Christian consumer. Co-workers are all Christians. Dress code is relaxed. Free healthcare for employee and family if you qualify. Good benefits. Prayer is strongly encouraged.

Cons

Even though the ministry is seeing growth like never before the member development dept. without much notice received a 50% pay decrease. This is the 4th pay cut in 14 months. This one has been devastating to most. It is a life changer and no notice it was coming. No cuts anywhere else. No reasoning other than we shouldn't be making that much money even though that was the earning potential promised when we were hired.

Pros

It is one of the few places that allows me to practice my faith at work. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and I am able to take time off for mission trips. Their program (free to staff) also exempted me from the Affordable Care Act. The dress code is super casual.

Cons

It is a "mom and pop" shop that has grown way to fast and has not been able to adopt to changes. There are too many incompetent people in leadership positions because they've been grandfathered into their roles. Some of them are even bullies but tolerated because they have been there forever. It is evident the leadership there care more about themselves and their careers than really investing in their staff. The strategic direction changes with the wind and there was a huge pay cut this year even though the business had substantial profits.
