Thank you for your feedback! We're happy to hear that you've had such a positive experience over your three to four years with Circle Medical, and we're especially proud that you find our proprietary EMR and IT department to be excellent. We also appreciate your candid point about the challenges of a startup environment. We recognize that our fast pace can sometimes be uncomfortable, and we hear your advice about transparency. It’s feedback like this that helps us work toward better communication and support as we continue to grow and evolve. The People Team @ Circle Medical

Pros

Nice people, provided WFH equipment, free lunches before the company went broke

Cons

This company is in a full-blown tailspin that is collapsing from the inside out. They’re drowning in legal trouble (yes, the DEA investigations and lawsuits are real), many providers were unknowingly practicing illegally due to the company’s complete lack of regulatory knowledge and oversight. Rather than owning up to this massive failure, leadership tried to cover it up and shifted the burden onto the providers and employees resulting in pay cuts (while already underpaying) and multiple layoff rounds. They’ll tell you it’s “performance-related” or “restructuring,” but it’s just desperate damage control. Some of the most dedicated, high-quality healthcare professionals I’ve ever worked with left in frustration and disbelief at how poorly they were treated. Leadership is focused on replacing providers with AI to make the company fully autonomous, essentially becoming the “Waymo” of healthcare. Instead of investing in and supporting their clinical team, they’re pouring resources into tech experiments that other healthcare startups have already tried and failed at, often with disastrous consequences for both patient care and compliance. This obsession with automation over people shows just how little they value the providers who built the foundation of this company. It’s not about improving care- it’s about cutting costs, no matter the risk. Morale is at rock bottom, and it’s no surprise why: people are overworked, underpaid, and watching valued employees get cut left & right. This goes for both full time employees and the 1099 providers. Everything you’ve read online is unfortunately true — from Reddit to BBB to other Glassdoor reviews. The culture is fake, leadership is out of touch, and there’s no clear future here. Most of the good people have already left or been laid off, with more to come.

Pros

- Annual travel to Canada to meet with HQ team - Amazing colleagues with big brains and hearts

Cons

- “Move uncomfortably fast” is their core company value…in healthcare. - Abusive, patronizing leadership with no business acumen, healthcare experience, or moral compass. - C-suite leadership can barely manage to hold a conversation with employees. CEO says embarrassingly out-of-pocket statements in front of the entire organization, often at the expense of others. - Morally-questionable, profit-driven company decisions are made without any foresight, strategic thinking, or patient care in mind. The business is only turning a profit because of sheer luck during covid. No true efforts have been made to plan for the company’s financial stability. - Nothing sets CM apart from their competitors, aside from doing everything worse. - Contracted providers have little to no interest in patient care or consistency. - Cannot retain providers across their three (3) brick and mortar clinics (across 27 states). Patients constantly tossed around from PCP to PCP. - Full head office team is based outside the US and has no prior knowledge of US healthcare system intricacies. They are forced to learn on their own. - Constant, non-sensical firing of strong leaders and tenured employees. Leadership has a culture of placing blame versus recognizing their own shortcomings. - Absolutely no praise for jobs well done, just illogical and profane criticism for insignificant deviations from leadership’s “vision.” - Criticism for stretching yourself thin, then criticism for not doing enough. No actual company goals or objective success metrics. - Disrespectful, inept, and non-compliant People Operations team. Often completely ignores employee messages for months despite repeated follow-ups. - Irresponsible and discriminatory comp structure from the top down, while a nurse practitioner in leadership is paid $300k+ USD, physicians with patient contact are paid well below median salaries in their area.
