Pros

Healthy work-life balance, extensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, etc.), generous PTO, culture is inclusive and often feels like one big family, smart and innovative employees looking to make a difference in healthcare, many growth opportunities.

Cons

Can often be too many meetings and would like the salaries to be a bit more competitive with the market.

Pros

good benefits, pay is acceptable

Cons

Interdepartmental collaboration is laughable here, procedures seem to be established on the spot with no foresight.. The top levels overpowering opinion, mood swings, and incessant need to be involved in every aspect of the company are truly holding the company back. There are people at director/VP level positions that have no business being there, favoritism and special treatment is something that seems to be openly embraced here. There are no updates on company status or product advancements for the vast majority of employees, leaving most feeling disconnected. We do get the honor of leadership vaguely babbling on once or twice a year during a company-wide meeting about how great and bright our future is. As this company scrambles together in an unorganized fashion to replace a current product that is likely failing, I don't anticipate much growth from this company, nor do I expect leadership to budge on their same broken, unproven ways of handling business.

Pros

You get to work in San Diego, CA.

Cons

If you have a passion for coding, you don't want to work here. They lack the desire to implement modern approaches proven by successful companies in their own industry. The CEO is so hands on that nothing gets done in a timely manner. They have no formal managers in the product development group. The entire product development group relies on a single server for development and testing. WHEN it goes down, the whole group goes idle. The pay is significantly below average for the region. The benefits are sub par. They like to advertise the HMO being 100% paid by the company, but it's a terrible plan. Office space is severely limited and granted based primarily on time with the company. You'll spend as much time fighting the inefficiencies in the development process as you will coding. No ability to use an IDE for debugging. GDB is the only supported option as all development is done on a single server. Leadership lacks a unified vision for the future of the platform. Projects that should take weeks are unfinished after months due to a lack of leadership.
