      Great people, but struggles to keep up with the times

      Great people, almost everyone is very smart and committed to the mission Pay is competitive Work/Life balance is OK, but sometimes it seems you're on-call 24/7

      Cons

      Uncertain career structure Managers are territorial and unlikely to collaborate Training is available but it's not clear where it will lead you Investments in newer technology are insufficient, leading to many inefficiencies

      Great pay Great benefits, including vacation Interesting insight into American education Some interesting projects Better resources (computers, software, copy machines, office supplies) than many workplaces Lots of free food

      Culture of fear Inconsistent direction from senior management Senior managers do not work together and often do not support a common goal or purpose Managers do not support their staff Inter-department conflict Vague and ambiguous job descriptions

      The atmosphere has devolved!

      Pros

      - Great mission - Great benefits (4+ weeks vacation off the bat)

      Cons

      - Managers have zero training in the work AND as managers which creates an incredibly difficult time for those actually doing the work - So bureaucratic its worse than the DMV - Promotions are based on favoritism and politics NOT work or accomplishments - Extremely frustrating atmosphere to be a part of
