Best decision I've ever made...

Pros

I LOVE my job!! I have been with Comphealth for 15 years, I have seen many people come and go, many things change and evolve and certainly seen our business thru many ups and downs but one thing has remained constant and that is the care and concern for me as a person at all points of my career. I feel truly fortunate to be a part of such an impressive company that puts their core values at the center of every decision.

Cons

Can't really think of anything.

Pros

Cafeteria with decent food, but it's not subsidized so it's not really any cheaper it just keeps you at your desk.

Cons

Where to even begin. They basically trick you into thinking you're working in heaven. Then when you get through training it's a completely opposite experience. Nothing like what they told you it would be. It's completely cutthroat and you can't trust anybody there. The managers only care about other managers and not any of the recruiters who make all the money for the company. Work life balance is not existent and they barely let you take time off. Now it varies from team to team on how they operate but my managers were never around to help and only work 40 hours (on a good week) and expect us to work 60+if needed no matter how well we are doing. My manager was completely unstable and yells at and berates team members in front of the whole team. Doesn't matter how much money you're making them it's never enough. They use the "core values" as a crutch to justify things they do. There's the facade of what they want people to think and then there's the seedy underbelly of what the company is really like. People are treated like garbage and let go at the drop of a hat. Definitely not worth the stress to try to make just ok money. Even when people bring up issues they won't address them because they Don't really care about you. I've never worked somewhere where nobody got to know be beyond coworker level until this place. I could go on but this place is not anything like they claim to be

Pros

Health benefits are great. Partially paid maternity and paternity leave, fertility care assistance, even assistance with gender reassignment. Unlimited Volunteer time off.

Cons

Unhealthy competition; everyone in the Grand Rapids office looks and acts unhappy, dissatisfied, and stressed out; long-tenured managers are unwilling to change with the times and the younger workforce; Core values only apply to management favorites, Don't let them fool you into thinking they are happy, progressive and fun during interviews - pay attention to the atmosphere in the office take note as to how many people are smiling or interacting with one another; Nothing matters to mgmt except your numbers and doing things "their way", not the company's way, the mgr's way; YOU WILL BE A SEAT WARMER - get your numbers and be sure you're in your seat for exactly 8 hours a day or more, they will have a talk with you if you're in your seat for 7 hrs and 59 mins. Flex time is not understood by management, they require it be pre-approved at least a week in advance - where's the flexibility in that? It is not a recruiting hub - it's a call center, if you're a recruiter just plan on doing the "bait and switch" with your candidates

Pros

People and values based company. Live their values and willing to walk away from business if it's against their core values.

Cons

Behind the times in technology; difficult to innovate.

Putting profits over people

Pros

-Onsite gym -Cafeteria -Scaling PTO with tenure

Cons

-Poor work life balance: you will think about the stress and anxiety of the requirements of the job in and out of work - you are expected to deal with "locums" emergencies at any hour of the day and on weekends or your book of business could be effected because of it -2/3 of the employees are on anxiety or anti depressant medications because of the toxic work environment and growing metric expectations (metrics increase even when the market as a whole is struggling - you are set up for failure and they will just take your book of business and distribute it to the rest of your team if you can't keep up, but they won't have to pay your salary or benefits; win win for comphealth!) -Management plays favorites with reps and will bend core value requirements for certain employees. Integrity/ethics is a thin core value as only some employees are held to that standard. If you cheat or are dishonest and are a top performer, they will happily turn a blind eye to there "no exceptions to integrity violations policy" -Consistently downgraded commission structures despite double digit growth within the company - salary is poor and after 18 months you make significantly less pay -Uneven commission structures from team to team (high gross margin teams are paid out more than low GM teams, you don't really have a choice which team you are on) -Lateral movement in the company is not supported if your team isn't meeting a budget (you can't decide what team you're on when you are hired, so buckle up with the luck of the draw you get) -If you are accused of anything negative, you will not get a fair due process

And when the CompHealth recruiters helping the healthcare providers to find work, it impacts communities and lives.

All sales companies can be stressful and have high expectations and goals. But the positive is you are working in an environment that is built on the Core Value of Putting People First.

Pros

-Work life balance -Low stress job -Good health benefits -Friendly fun environment -Helpful employees

Cons

-Very low base salary and unfair commission structure. Very hard to make a comfortable salary. -Senior leadership focuses attention on certain employees, acting goofy and joking around daily with a selected handful. They walk around the office and chat to these selected favorites daily and constantly throughout the work day. This has lost them credibility and respect. It kills morale and makes it uncomfortable for others to watch. Treat all equally! Act like leaders and stop clowning around with the immature low performing 20 year olds. -Poor quality of work. While quantity is important in this company, the quality of what is submitted to clients and candidates makes CompHealth look very unprofessional. It is a shame as one of their core values is professionalism.
