It's CompUSA - why bother?

Pros

It was close. And there were some good people. It used to be fun to work there, and then management lost any sense of what to do other than rip the place off. There was a Starbucks right behind the building, and you could get some tasty lattes there - or track down half of the IT department at any given moment.

Cons

The management was the worst. No consistent direction. No strategic thought. No understanding of what customers wanted or how to give it to them. A total boondoggle for the senior management. No desire to keep people worth keeping. It was like trying to staff a prison.

Pros

Location, good possibility of advancement into management. Like the idea of team work and taking pride in your work. Time off, benefits and nice, smart people to work with. I enjoy the team building projects, getting the opportunity to learn diffrenet types of jobs. Many times, management works with familys, they understand the need for having a live outside of work. Good benefits, Communication between departments. Recongnition with a job well done and a lot of feedback with work needs imporvement. Like the fact that employee morale is always up and I have meet some nice people and made good friends.

Cons

No help, guidence from Upper Magmt. Morale is sometimes down, I really dont have much of a bad thing to say about CompUSA, a good company to work for. Supervisor treats me well, good communiction and recognition, feedback. My work and personal live are seperated, they understand when I must take some time off. They compensate well, for a job well done, they respect an employee and show fairness where needed. People seem to have a good time working there, no major problems. Like the location, good products and healthy atmospher. Like the way the company handles itself in many situations.
