Pros

I can't speak for the rest of them but I have a great team in my area. We all help one another if we are able. There is a certain sense of freedom in not having someone looking over your shoulder constantly.

Cons

Where do I start? Upper management is a joke, this company has been bought and sold about ten times in the past three years by different investment firms looking to turn a quick buck. From my understanding this used to be a legitimate IT company, not anymore. No such thing as actual training, they teach you to manage cases, to log your time and mileage, then throw you to the wolves. If you have questions call the help desk. Pay is bottom of the barrel for this type of work, no bonuses and no real incentives. It seems like no matter how good of a job you do or how far above and beyond you go there will be something somewhere that you probably weren't even told about that you will catch flak for.

Pros

Other than still getting a pay check, I DON'T KNOW

Cons

Nothing but secrets and lies from the upper management. No growth and massive pay cut 2 years ago and no increase since.

Pros

Flexible schedule is the #1 Pro for working at CompuCom. I was a Field Service Technician, which is their most common position, and I enjoyed it. Your home is your office. You are sent calls in your area (your area could be anywhere from 1-300+ miles depending on your area and contract) and you are required to complete them before a deadline. The deadline could be anywhere from 1 hour to a week, depends on the contract. So somedays I would wake up at 9 AM and play video games until I received a call. They also reimburse for hotels and dinners when you are in remote areas. Another pro is I got to see some nice areas, Ski Resorts, Mt Rushmore, etc (pros of Colorado and surrounding areas). The pay was decent for me was contracted in at $15/hr, and got bumped to $16.50 an hour after 3 months and being hired full-time. It was okay, but could've been better and I felt like that would be going up any time soon.. The vehicle mileage reimbursement somehwat made up for it, but you may put a lot of miles on your vehicle (I put 20,000 miles in six months). A great stepping stone. CompuCom will give an employee great experience. They pay for certifications for countless equipment (Lenovo, Xerox, Lexmark, HP, etc.), and they also pay you for the time spend training for them. But more importantly, they will get you experience working at big-box chain stores such as Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Lowe's and OfficeMax. That looks good on any IT resume, and can prepare anyone. Just expect having to go into a lot of those stores. I personally visited 40 separate Walmarts in four different states.

Cons

Weekends. Because CompuCom gives you jobs based on SLA's (Service Level Agreements) which are basically deadlines. You will probably have to work a lot of weekends. If you are assigned a job on a Friday, it may be due on Saturday. But they're usually good about adding an extra day onto the deadline if it falls near a weekend. Just don't expect to have two-day weekends on the regular. Personal Car Mileage. They do reimburse for mileage, but you will be putting a lot of miles on your vehicle. Probably between 300-1000 miles per week. If you're lucky, they may provide you with a company vehicle, but it's unlikely.
