Pros

Fellow Technicians are good people and good to work with, working independantly and troubleshooting and resolving issues on your own is self satisfying.

Cons

No communication on work performance or prior info or training on projects or equipment not trained to do.

Pros

Good place to get your foot in the IT field door if your just out of school, or in need of a job, but get out as soon as you can!

Cons

Poor pay, no pay increase, very little to no bonuses, HUGE clique within management team. Complaints are either ignored, or turned around to be "your fault". Rewards are geared towards closing the most calls, and making SLA's at all costs, not customer service minded. Work load is so large you have to work on your own time, as overtime is forbidden. Mileage compensation is well below federal standards, not to mention they force you to take "commuting mileage" out even though you work from your "home office". Absolutely no incentive to grow as an employee. Morale is very low.

Pros

We have never ending change to challenge you as we grow into whatever it is the senior executives think we should be. While the regular employees don't necessarily agree with the goals, it certainly provides plenty of opportunity to stretch yourself if you find challenging projects to work on. Management is quite flexible regarding remote work allowing employees to work from home on a regular basis. This may not apply to all areas of the company but is certainly a benefit in the IT organization. Culturally, it's a happy place. Despite the fact senior management makes boneheaded decisions making employees feel like no one cares about them, the majority of the employees are happy and easy to get along with.

Cons

Dealing with the stupidity that is senior management. Acquisitions that make sense on paper but are ineffectually managed in their execution. Lack of clear decision making and direction. A retention bonus plan that is absolutely pathetic. 15 years of service gives you enough points to buy some piece of junk from an on-line store that's worth about $45 retail. $45 for 15 years of service. Unbelievable. Pay is below average for the level of skill and job requirements. Lack of resources to get tasks completed in a timely manner. Too many conflicting requirements without clear direction from senior management about which should be addressed first.
