Pros

I was able to sell them on a new idea (a FOSS-powered intranet), they made me a full-time employee developing for it and maintaining it

Cons

Disorganized, always in panic mode, reactive instead of proactive, low pay

Pros

If you can get a slot on a good team, you can be very happy - get a variety of experiences, potentially travel on various projects. The team must keep the client happy. We provide outsourced services. Depending on the client's treatment of contractor/vendor types in their facilities - work spaces can be from excellent to hand-me-down.

Cons

This is a lean company. Almost all start via a temporary agency and then move to full time. There is very little bench time. If a project ends, if a contract is lost expect to be laid off. If you did a good job, you will be brought back if your skills and work ethic were good.

Pros

It's relatively easy to get hired, and thus can be a good way to get into the industry...

Cons

... if all you want is a snapshot of what it's like to be a cast member in Office Space. Seriously, once you get hired, you just get stuck. No upward mobility, no new opportunities.
