      Pros

      CTG has very impressive contracts with large companies. All of the most basic benefits for an employee. Good company to start one's career right out of college, not a place to stay.

      Cons

      Only basic benefits for employees. Management does not understand the job the employee is positioned in, lack of understanding prevents them from successfully protecting employee's when wrongfully accused. Zero opportunity for advancement

      Pros

      Local presence, knowledge of local businesses and IT contracting industry. Dedicated account representatives. Good to work with the same people each time I look for a new contract.

      Cons

      Like any contracting agency, career development is minimal, although it is probably fair to say that most companies take less of an interest in developing their own employees to perform jobs that contractors are hired to do than they once did. Benefit package for contractors is minimal, although paid time off varies with the client.

      Pros

      My manager did a decent job of recognizing performance. I received several awards for delivering excellent support to our customer, and there was usually some performance incentive - an AMEX gift card usually.

      Cons

      As a contractor, you are viewed as of no more importance than say, a disk drive, and just as easily replaceable. After leaving the job and doing some research on comparable jobs/responsibilities I found that I was paid roughly 55% of the prevailing wage. Because I had not been on the job market for some time, I didn't realize this at the time, but even then I was told several times that I was lucky to be getting what I was.
