Pros

I just enrolled in my benefits and am amazed at how much Cortland is contributing towards my benefits. In comparison, I'm paying $0 and the only cost coming out of my paycheck are my HSA contributions. I'm definitely taking advantage of the concierge services offered to help me manage my out of pocket medical costs.

Cons

Since this space requires 20 words at a minimum, I'll just say that Cortland is a very fast paced, growing organization. It is not a home for those who lack motivation, self-discipline, and passion for what they do.

Thank you for your positive feedback on our benefits! Our CEO and Talent team began a multi-year strategy to decrease the cost of healthcare for our Associates while making sure that the level of care and coverage remained top of the line! We listened to the healthcare pain points from our associates, and we were excited to implement the HSA plan! As you mentioned, we are a very fast-paced, growing organization, so we plan to continue to implement better initiatives, such as the new benefits plan to improve the quality of life for our associates!

Pros

I had been working in the industry of Multi-Family Renovations for over ten years before I came to Cortland Partners . During that time I was very fortunate to work with some of the best property management companies in the California and Texas markets . And after working with CP for almost three years , I can say without a reasonable doubt that this organization is the best at what they do. Cortland Partners is one of the few property management companies, that I am aware of at least, that is involved in every single step of the rehab process: from the acquisition of the asset, to the design build stage, through the entire development side of procuring materials in house for the renovation in question. The level of exposure and knowledge Ive gained has been indispensable, and I couldn't put a price tag on all that Ive learned. But my favorite part of working for this organization has been that it really hasn't felt like an organization at all. I would consider Cortland a cohesive family unit that takes care of its employees. It doesn't feel like a hierarchy, as there is an open level of communication from the very top down to the very bottom. Every one Ive had the pleasure of working with cares about the well being of the company, and is responsive in trying to facilitate your day to day proceedings.

Cons

The only slight personal peccadillo Ive rarely encountered has been with a few individuals in upper level management. Almost everyone is extremely knowledgeable and has a great deal of insight as to what they are doing. But , at times, I have found it difficult to communicate problems in regards to construction with some of the individuals in management. More specifically, most of these execs have a solid educational background, but no construction experience. So sometimes communicating problems dealing with construction trades can be difficult and slightly stressful. But , I will say, everyone has an open mind and is quick to listen and give you feed back. It all goes back to what I was saying with the open level of communication. Cortland has the most attentive and responsive employees in any multifamily market

Wow, thanks so much! It’s an honor to receive such wonderful feedback from an associate who has been with us for over 3 years. We strive to be the best at what we do – staying involved in the rehab process from start to finish is certainly part of that vision – and it feels awesome to hear how much you’ve picked up on our passion. We appreciate your comments about our communication, too. It’s so important that we all stay open to insights from associates at every level of the company, so we can all keep pushing ourselves to be better and deliver the best experience possible for our residents.

Pros

Fast paced, team oriented, and Family focused. Cortland is by far the best company I have ever worked with. Creating Value for a Better Life is truly lived daily by ever member of our Cortland family.

Cons

Fast paced growth and implementation of procedures. Some set backs have occurred due to the speed in which Cortland is growing. However all issues when they arise are handled quickly and decisively as well as the proper processes and procedures put in place going forward.
