Pros

I'm an extremely hard worker and rarely complain. I'm always at work on time and I care deeply about making an impact at work. That being said, I loved this job at one point and now I can't stand it. I'll explain more in the Cons. Hours aren't as bad for retail, although they still aren't preferable. You work for FOUR hours on Sundays which is ridiculous and the only customers who come in are grossly unlicensed or have outdated licenses. They offer a 401k but with what they pay you I can't afford to even contribute to it. I used to love this job but after three years of being treated poorly I'm looking elsewhere.

Cons

The company used to give out huge amounts of free product to employees because we Are their brick and mortar sales crew, but they cut back noticeably. This was one of the only perks of the store positions. They also have a rewards points system where if you sell certain products you get points which you can turn into nice items from a "gift shop" for employees online. This was great, and in some ways made the low hourly unlivable wages not so so terrible. They cut the items that you can receive "points" on in half, and no longer display them in the front of the store. The hourly wage is sad. This is a bug issues, because they constantly want more out of employees but refuse to make wages livable. Recently they mandated social media into our daily workload which is fine, however those of us doing this extra work have been ignored for our success and received nothing for a task that was never in the job description. The daily tasks seem to have increased sharply on top of the old work load with no new incentives. Like so many retail sales positions WE are the primary contact with customers yet we aren't paid livable wages. I've been here three years and had to fight for the small increase I received. It still isn't enough. They will give NEW employees a higher introductory wage than what you are getting paid for being there for years also, when the new employees don't have the same experience by far. Stop paying new employees more and not giving old employees who have been loyal to you a raise. Management has become too comfortable at least in my store and does no do their duties. The manager of my store sits at their desk and does not even do basic paperwork at times, and is often on their phone. The rest of the lower level team getting paid pennies has to make up for this manger's laziness. This manager in particular will blame anything wrong on the lower level employees, when this person does not do their job. This manager has also upset countless customers, and many avoid out location and go elsewhere because of it. Upper management was told of these issues and did nothing. The computer system is outdated and a DOS system from god knows when. It is constantly crashing and breaking. It makes completing sales at times a nightmare. I've worked at far less successful companies that had better point of sale systems. It leads me to believe this company is extremely cheap. The POS annoys customers, they can tell it needs updated. The ordering system within it is outdated too. We are constantly over on product or worse vastly OUT OF product because the ordering system is outdated. The company says it has issues keeping new employees, that is because of the wage issues, and store managers are sometimes unfit for the position yet they do nothing to correct it.

Pros

You were able to make your own schedule

Cons

They have got to be one of worts companies when it comes to supporting outside sales reps. There isn't much of a monthly car allowance and there is no reimbursements for mileage. Wasn't ver helpful when my territory ended up being twice the size than it originally had been told to me.

Pros

Great sales position working in the beauty industry. Compensation and benefits are some of the best when it comes to sales in the beauty industry .

Cons

You are in direct competition with the store division, there is very little cohesion and little focus on the customer. Management typically does not know or understand what the new directions the company is taking. You are left to fix and figure out every mistake that the warehouse and company makes with your customers accounts. The technology infrastructure of CosmoProf is way behind the times leading to long delays getting anything done. The amount of sales prevention that goes on is absolutely astonishing.
