Pros

Samples, exercise from manual labor

Cons

Being bullied by my manager and co worker, corporate did NOTHING to resolve. I was forced to leave due to harassment, I felt unsafe. It’s been two weeks since , I filed a report, called several people and NO ONE had called me back to resolve this issue. The most unprofessional company I’ve ever seen.

Pros

The vendors (not CosmoProf) are always sending you free products to test, vendors also send brand trainers to teach you about their products. The store operation hours give you a fairly normal work day. That's really it.

Cons

The systems/tech are incredibly old and impossible to operate; you have to constantly jump through hoops and do a ridiculous amount of steps to get even the most simple tasks done; pay rate puts you barely above the poverty line; company policies are constantly changing; when you're hired you're promised the opportunity to move up in the company easily, but my manager, DM, and TM were all outside hires so no real opportunities to go further in the company are given; no overtime allowed, and their overtime policies in general are confusing and total BS - for example, Sunday's are only 12-4 so if you're working Sunday, you have to come in on what should be one of your days off to work a 4 hour shift (with no makeup time off); calling out 2 times in your first 6 months is considered "excessive" and you'll likely be fired; the chances d getting a requested day off are slim to none; the "breaks" are laughable; benefits (vacation days/sick days/insurance) aren't even available until at least 1 year. I could go on forever honestly, but I'll stop there.

Pros

Free Samples. Work hours from 8am- 6:30pm.

Cons

Where to start?! The employees have to provide a fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, ect, for the break room because the company is too cheap to provide these appliances. The store also uses damaged shampoo to refill the bathroom soap dispensers, again, they are extremely cheap. Also, I just found out it is the district managers job is to save the most amount of money from each store they can so that they can take home a bonus check for themselves! So they naturally deny the stores request for various items (like a microwave or store phone) needed to fulfill their quota and get that money! Do the hourly employees benefit from this? Nope. They don't see a dime. Hourly sales associates get paid the bare minimum but do all the work while the store manager sits all day, chat on the phone and pretend like they are working. If they took care of their hourly employee's as well as their managers and customer, maybe they wouldn't have such a high turnover rate. Store managers make about $12-$14/hour paid as salary and that's about the only option for "growth" in this company.
