Pros

Was having good benifits and the team was great until the company was brought off.

Cons

They have laid off 100s of employee. Even the lay-off process was very disrespectful as they did that in groups and did not afford to spend 10 mins for each employee to just show them some respect, there were some who had worked in company for over 10 years and was laid off in group meeting. All process is being sent over to India.

The merger and acquisition process is one way that companies grow their products and clients. It is true that these events are often accompanies by changes in the organization and that can include lay-offs. During the Cotiviti-Verscend integration in 2109, there were some lay-offs occurring in three waves over a period of 9 months. While I understand that holding notifications in groups can seem impersonal, the manner in which we conducted the events was done with the utmost respect for those affected. In fact, we increased the severance available and offered outplacement services. And contrary to your assertion, we did not and are not sending all processes to India. Cotiviti is a global company with employees in the United States, Canada, India, and Nepal. Some processes are performed outside of the U.S., but most of the company's 6,400 employees are in the United States. Also, your perspective that there are more people in management than direct reports is not accurate. Many managers were part of the lay-off process in 2019. And before our most recent merger with HMS, the ratio of managers to direct reports was 1 to 6 (6 individual contributors for every manager). It is unfortunate that your departure from Cotiviti left you with such negative feelings. I understand that. It was a difficult process to go through; however, we communicated what we could when we could, we treated people fairly and equitably during the separation process, and our company has continued to grow and perform very well. Best of luck to you in your next role.

Pros

You aren't jobless and the bills are getting paid.

Cons

I'll stick to describing how the IT engineering team works, although the operations side is just as bad. If you've been working here since long, bringing the company to a respectable position, you're a liability. You created those MS Access behemoths (although you were never given choices), and so you're disqualified from working on the latest dev stacks. The latest dev stack isn't defined at the same time. It was in the CEO's mind, who got fired early this year, and so it went with him 8-}. The middle management has been replaced numerous times since going public. It has been replaced by a clique from Nielsen, since Nielsen itself is on the selling block and all the know nothings can't find any jobs based on skills. HBR can write a case study on nepotism, and this would be a perfect petri dish. If you do want to work here, you've to be in dire straits. You badly need a visa sponsorship, or you've been rejected from so many other places, or you never graduated beyond coding in VBA. You could also be a gullible recent college grad mesmerized by the fancy recruiting brochure. If you just need a break, this is a perfect revolving door that will provide a few months of paycheck. You just have to stay ahead of the dreaded and mandatory PIN. Just show all these glassdoor reviews when the next employer asks why you're leaving!
