Overworked and undervalued

Pros

You’ll get plenty of hours

Cons

Most of the staff (at the first national) hates their jobs. They feel significantly undervalued and over worked. They are expected to do more work load but are not compensated for it. Instead of hiring more staff and/or investing back into their employees, they’re rather spend their money on advertising. They have managers over working but don’t want to match their pay for their efforts. Instead, they’d rather actually just give them more work and expect them to suck it up and take it. Nepotism is all the first national runs on. Good luck working hard and being recognized unless you know who’s butt to kiss

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate hearing from our current curators, especially those who have been with us for several years. It’s difficult to read that you’re feeling overworked and undervalued. That’s not the experience we strive to create. Hospitality is demanding by nature, but it should never come at the expense of feeling respected, supported, or fairly recognized for your contributions. We take concerns about workload, compensation, and leadership culture seriously. Staffing levels, manager support, and pay practices are topics we continuously evaluate, and feedback like yours helps us identify where we may be falling short at the property level. We also want to be clear that favoritism or fear-based communication is not aligned with our values or expectations of our leaders. If you’re open to it, we would truly welcome a direct conversation at hrteam@couryh.com. Anonymous reviews are helpful, but they limit our ability to dig deeper and address specific concerns. Our goal is always to create an environment where curators feel heard, safe to speak up, and confident that their hard work matters. Thank you again for your honesty. We remain committed to improving the experience for every curator and ensuring that leadership is accountable to the standards we set for ourselves.

Pros

I wish I could think of just one.

Cons

Bully culture, inappropriate relations between staff and management, favoritism, awful working conditions (overworking, unsanitary conditions, broken equipment, broken ac, and leaks flooding the kitchen) are the norm at Ambassador Hotel OKC. Management loves to interrogate and intimidate staff. Psychological abuse, implied threats, and expoiltation are Jason and Danielle's MO to motivate staff. The environment is toxic and extremely oppresive. HR falsified my report, Jason and Danielle falsified my employee file. I have spoken to 2 separate employment attorneys who are willing to represent me in a lawsuit. Ambassador OKC is losing staff at an alarming rate and instead of doing better, they double down on staff that attempts to remain and help save the sinking ship. They will interview you and ask personal questions, make all of the promises about developing you professionally, and then weaponize your goals, dreams, and even basic needs. If you complain at all of set any form of boundary about how you're being treated, they retaliate by withholding your PTO, cutting your hours so you lose benefits, keeping so much staff on that is dilutes the tip pool so you can't make money, assigning you more work while letting their pets do literally nothing (like hanging out in a completely separate part of the building for hours at a time while they collect off of the tip pool) all while manipulating your pay down to nothing, and encouraging their pets to bully you. I fully expect to be rebuttaled by HR on this post. Just know they are disingenuous and only have an interest in executing damage control!

Pros

Time off is available for medical appointments and vacations based on needs.

Cons

Currently, my drive time is about an hour from where I live but the office space is great, and sometimes, breakfast or lunch is provided when a guest visitor or new employee joins the team.

Hello Corporate Curator and thank you for the great review! I'm sorry that your commute is so long, but I'm glad that the office environment and the camaraderie with the rest of the corporate team provides a positive work experience.
