Senior Management Mistakes

Pros

The company was built by people who understood the markets and created innovative products that greatly advanced the business mostly during the 1990s and early 2000s.

Cons

The CEO was the 3rd generation of the original owner and senior management mostly consisted of his college friends. They made some good decisions but overall none of them would have elevated higher than middle management in any other corporation. The final death blow that forced the sale to CPI was their purchase of a warehouse full of Chinese ATMs that the company had no core competency to sell and support. Not to mention they entered a 30+ year old declining market. The CEO was forced into a Co-CEO position about a year prior to the sale probably to help guide the family out of a pending financial catastrophe.

Pros

Nice people. I had a great manager.

Cons

They were bought out by a fortune 500 company, so I don't know what it's like now.

Pros

The customers we serve every day. We have built long standing, solid relationships and work hard to make sure their experience is positive.

Cons

This company was founded on the principles of honesty, integrity, focus on employees etc. It has become like many others, solely focused on the dollar. Long-tenured employees are not given opportunities to move into new roles or advance, experience doesn't seem to count as the company looks outside for those who have MBA credentials when solid employees could do the same job. Let's not forget the cringe-worthy interview process....hours sitting with a candidate using a process that should eliminate the bad apples, yet somehow they pass and end up failing. I used to be proud to say I worked for this company but no more. They claim to be the leader in their industry..they need to get back to really understanding and following the founder's mission statement which is read at the beginning of every meeting or presentation but has lost it's meaning.
