Pros

In my 7 years with Cubic, I have had the opportunity to move across roles and work with many different parts of the business. This is truly a place where hard work creates opportunity to move over and up - which is unique when a company is made up of two distinct offerings - Transportation (commercial and state/local government contracting) and Defense (largely federal government contracting). If you're a self-starter, who can get things done - then Cubic is ripe with opportunity. If you want to join a company and have your job description laid out, and only work in your swim lane - then it might not be the place for you (depending on the role). If you find fulfillment in working hard to solve problems and make things better - then you'll thrive and be recognized here.

Cons

Work life balance can be hard because there is so much to do across so many projects. Once management realizes your a high-performer, you'll get more and more work because they know you can be relied upon to deliver good work, on-time - which sometimes results in getting too much of other people's work, so you have to be able to draw boundaries and influence others or coach them to perform well (even though they may not report to you or even be on your team). People who can figure out how to get something done in a smart, efficient way will do better than people who need management and a lot of direction. If you don't like to think for yourself, this isn't the place for you.
