Pros

The pay is market average. Some of the team are good to work for. There is a lot of diversity and inclusion within the workforce,

Cons

Where do I start.. If you want to have constructive training and development look elsewhere. If you want a good amount of perks and benefits look elsewhere. If you want any job satisfaction whatsoever look elsewhere. If you want to move up the career ladder look elsewhere. Cubic management seem to see the employees as devices they can deploy to solve a task with no real understanding of what they want them to do, just deliver for as cheap as possible "Fix everything but change nothing". This approach has lead to the best staff leaving and the customers getting more and more irritated with management that seem to blame the engineers - its all getting rather toxic. On paper it seems great that some engineers stay for 10,20 or even 30 years, but these are the experts that refuse to share information with anyone else so their role becomes immortalised.

Pros

Some capable colleagues at delivery level. Interesting work in theory.

Cons

Poor management culture and inconsistent leadership. Line management lacks basic people-management skills, with frequent micromanagement, shifting expectations, and communication that relies on pressure rather than support. Policies (flexible working, sickness absence, development/training) are applied inconsistently and sometimes incorrectly, creating confusion and anxiety for staff. There is little transparency, minimal constructive feedback, and limited investment in employee development. Attempts to raise concerns or resolve issues informally lead to short-term fixes at best, with problems quickly resurfacing. During periods of restructuring, the environment becomes particularly stressful, with low psychological safety and limited trust.

Pros

- 9/10 people are incredible to work with and will make friends for life. (The only reason this review is 2 stars). - Decent Benefits and Scottish Widows Pension scheme.

Cons

- The workload expected is monumental. - The staffing is a real issue. - The lack of communication between Teams is incredibly terrible. - There is little to no communication between management and then management to employees. - Too much secrecy. - Questions are prohibited and frownd upon, likely due to the lack of communication. - HR literally runs the business. - During Covid, HR secretly changed their contracts to make sure they could all work from home. - Whatever Logic dictates, Cubic do the exact opposite. repeatedly. - The more popular you are, the more likely you are to get promoted. - No progressive training programs. - No courses provided. - Staff are expected to train new staff and maintain their normal workload. - Poor business/budgetting. - Terrible Process management. Lack of interest in improving processes.

Pros

Remote work Decent pay Flexible

Cons

Toxic Environment - Management would not really handle employee issues well, and this would encourage toxicity among some technical leads. There was no mentorship or training. The department did not have a really solid system which created an environment without guide. Schedules were not clearly defined, and there was no encouragement from other leads to do better as they themselves would not do better. High turnover.

Pros

Interesting projects and exposure to complex work.

Cons

The organisation struggles with clarity of direction and consistent decision-making. Processes change frequently without clear communication, which makes planning and delivery difficult. Internal priorities shift quickly, and teams often work in silos, leading to duplicated effort and frustration. Employee development and training are not prioritised, and approvals can be slow or inconsistent. Morale has been affected by ongoing restructuring and uncertainty, with limited transparency around future plans. The culture can feel reactive rather than supportive, particularly when workload increases.
