      Got tired of covering same old ground for years.

      Pros

      The software engineers were great to work with. Lots of smart people. Every other Friday off was nice.

      Cons

      Mid level management would change on almost a yearly basis causing project I was on to go nowhere fast. Lots of short sighted decisions and apathy from the upper ranks. Pay not appropriate for the area. Reduced employee compensation while having record quarters. Fear of retribution from upper management for not paying lip service to their propaganda. Code base had huge tech debt. Everything we touched was outdated.
