Pros

I'm a retired veteran so I don't have much experience with private sector companies. I do know that the HR staff was really helpful and everything seemed professional and efficient when I was hired on. Benefits are really good and pay is decent for my position. My co-workers have been really great as well.

Cons

Government contracts are just that. If the funding or position goes away, you are left high and dry. Because of this, contractors are always on the lookout for more permanent positions so the turnover rate is pretty high.

Pros

Great salary and benefits (although sick pay is aka vacation). Seems like there is room for career growth but hard to influence decision makers. Flexibility in teleworking.

Cons

No on boarding process; zero or minimal training; not a "learning organization"; hard to impress management unless you are already in the circle of trust from previous relationships. Cubic is made up of clusters of acquisitions and they don't always synchronize.

Pros

Been with Cubic almost one year. Generous salary compared to some other contracting companies, but jury not yet in on any bonus Hiring was painless - hired primarily for experience based on a good resume Coworkers and support staff are great to work with

Cons

Leadership could be more in touch with those of us "in the trenches." I work at a customer site not near a Cubic facility - often feel removed from what's happening within the Cubic corporate environment. Benefits could be better, especially leave accrual. Stick a crowbar in the wallet and supply some money for attending professional conferences and taking certification/development courses.
