      The last 6 months of 2022 the CEO sent emails saying the company was financially fit and they were prepared for recession and no one needs to fear being laid off. Beginning of Dec, CEO sent email with the same rhetoric. First day of 2023 that employees were back at work, they announced two production facility closures and 20% of staff had been laid off. They lie, they put profits over decent management, adequate training, customer service, loyalty.

The closures of the Reno and Charlottesville production facilities in January were difficult decisions, prompted by increasing production costs and tight labor markets caused by the pandemic, but we tried to support impacted Inkers with generous severance packages and an extended benefits period.       Love Custom Ink!!

      Pros

      I worked at Custom Ink for 9+ years, and was an Account Manager for the last 5+ years. Custom Ink was an amazing company to work for. That's what kept me there for so long. They care about their employees and do right by us. The only reason I left was to seek further opportunities.

      Cons

      The only down side to Custom Ink, and I shared this often internally, was their core value of innovation. Custom Ink was in a constant state of change. In some cases it was good and needed. In others it was change for the sake of change, and they often went back on the changes they made. I think it would benefit the company and employees to pull back on change for the sake of change.

      Transparency, Candor and Authenticity

      Pros

      Company leaders are very honest and transparent--they lay out our company's goals, performance and headwinds in a very clear and concise manner. The encourage us to be honest in our feedback and expect us to receive feedback in kind. I've never (in all my years) been afraid to speak up and offer my opinion/feedback on anything.

      Cons

      This is a company, for profit. Company's don't do everything YOU want them to do and that's OK. Some times they decide to go in a direction that folks don't like and I understand that as well. Ultimately this is a growing company--has been as long as I've been here--and there are a lot of growing pains that come with that.
