I appreciate trying to keep things fun, but instead why don't you raise our pay and stop micromanaging us by the second? That would be fun.

Upper management is concerned with goals and production without regard of possible health or personal obligations that may rise. The work and life balance is unbalanced because it is a heavy goal oriented position. If something life changing were to happen, you need to be the most well rounded individual with excellent performance goals, otherwise expect to have a serious meeting with management.
