Pros

The benefits as of now are pretty generous which was an incentive in the first place (401k, dental, medical, vision etc.), catered food on Thursdays, first dibs on failed or returned merchandise from clothes to wireless chargers. The weekends are always off, Saturdays can be voluntary overtime, but it's rare to take place. If you want responsibility and experience in leadership-climbing roles, just ask. If you like overtime checks, they hand it out like candy. There are problems, but there are good people truly trying to make it a better working environment. The company is young (about 20 years old), I wrote a lot in the cons section, but I'm thankful for this competitively paying job, and the type of people that see this as their career.

Cons

Mandatory overtime gets old really fast, some people are for it $$ but it wrecks any attempts at a work-life balance (if you've normally been able to get things done during the week) and plays a role in the high turnover rate. I've had three different managers in almost six months, making for conflicting plans for job growth trajectories amounting to setbacks in pay-increase opportunities (since as a warehouse, they care about numbers). While it's great that management approves time off requests with little reason to say no when you have the hours, they sabotage team deployments constantly, for some people can be flexed in certain positions, while others cannot, so the burden falls on the same people to the point of frustration/exhaustion. They still use outdated electronics and software making for constant disruptions (we still have printers waiting on parts going on four months currently). The Golden Rule is in their motto, but there is weak synergy between day and night shift. If you have a series of skill sets, you will be moved around a lot, great for people who like to diversify their day, frustrating for those that one to stay in one place for the day.

Pros

A lot of the work is supremely easy and can be laid back, great people to work with.

Cons

Inexperienced management, a lot of favoritism, and constant changes. The company has changed drastically since 2015. Most of management is only there for the corporate ladder climb and will do anything to achieve it. Short notice overtime, a lot of it unnecessary and it’s all about numbers.

Pros

- A small number of staff are genuine and easy to work with - Decent work-life balance for some employees (position dependent)

Cons

Company Complaints: - This company is so disorganized from Senior Leadership on down. Projects are assigned to staff with no clear instructions, deadlines, or deliverables articulated. Projects switch directions, or are outright canceled with no notice or explanation. Staff cannot ever see projects come to fruition, thus causing burnout - Disorganization combined with overwork and lack of pay has resulted in the company hemorrhaging employees (especially during the Great Resignation) - Persons of color are routinely passed over for promotions. Custom Ink likes to thinks it is inclusive of all employees, but the cis white culture runs deep. Witnessed multiple black women get passed over for promotions -If you are a person with a disability do not even think about applying here. Custom Ink does the bare minimum to accommodate your needs. HR and managers are ablest AF! - Custom Ink surveys employees to death. But if an employee dares to say something negative in the survey, managers will pull them into a meeting to give them a “slap on the wrist.” Anyone who publicly utters something negative about Custom Ink is automatically blacklisted. In some situations, employees have been denied promotions and even laid off - Senior Leadership act like they are frat bros. Witnessed meetings where leadership routinely drop F-bombs. This is such a pervasive cultural problem that lower-level staff do not feel comfortable going to HR with complaints Manager Complaints: - Custom Ink is staffed by gaslighting, micromanagers. Managers who have just a little bit of say in operations go on power trips. Witnessed managers scream at lower-level staff who publicly speak out against them, or talk negatively about a project direction. Thus, causing lower-level staff to cry and experience extreme distress - Witnessed managers publicly break the confidentiality of employees - Complaints about managers to HR go unheard and the harmful behaviors are left unchecked. Zero accountability at this company!
