Pros

Great position to start your corporate America journey Easy as heck job

Cons

Toxic management No room for career growth Low pay No WFH Didn't really know what to expect walking into the place as it was my first full time job but I surprised at what I found. D.R. Horton pumps out a massive amount of homes (#1 homebuilder in America) and in order to achieve that they need you to get up to speed quickly. I bumbled my responsibilities in the beginning and I was heavily punished for it as they have little to no patience for mistakes. The expectation is really high but the training I received was really poor. I was dealt a losing hand right from the beginning. After a couple months, I found the job to be really simple. I could have taught my 15 year old sister how to do it. As for workplace culture, my supervisor was always crabby so she made our department really tense and my manager was very passive aggressive so naturally this lead to a very toxic work environment. Overall, the company culture is highly impersonal and cliquey. It feels very "top-down" where management towers over you and makes you feel less-than. A lot of my coworkers were tone deaf to the political correctness of 2022 and often made sexist "jokes" that we all just kind of turned a blind eye to in order to avoid an awkward interpersonal relationship. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this position to my worst enemy. It's a toxic, low paying, no room for career growth, dead end job.

Management has favorites & make sure they get the best communities. Sales Managers need more training on how to effectively coach and lead a team. Favortism: If you are one of the few that management likes, they will take care of you. Schedule
