Thanks for taking the time to enter your comments and for recognizing the opportunities to progress. Regarding the work-life balance and pay situation, I am going to pass your comments on to our OM and the leadership of the Portland office, as well as our People Department. We invest serious time in keeping our pay competitive (top quartile) and at the same time keeping our billout rates commercially viable. I will admit that in this current environment it is a challenge to keep up with inflation and the hot labor markets. To the extent that you feel comfortable, please reach out to your supervisor and the PD through formal and informal discussions if you are dissatisfied with your compensation. Or contact me directly. Thanks.

Yes, we are blessed to have terrific people, projects, and clients. This business is and always has been about doing rewarding work for and with great people. That is what we aspire to. "Positively shaping the world with exemplary professional service." It is in our company's charter. Regarding the hiring issue, yes we have a number of positions open and we need to continue to recruit and build our staff. But DOWL is not a company that keeps score on the top line with growth, or on the bottom line with profits. We keep score by assembling quality projects for quality clients and working with quality people. If we need to dial back the growth to achieve these goals, so be it.

Thanks for the comment, although I am sorry that the score is so mediocre. First, you are correct, the great people we work with is what attracts most of us to DOWL, and keeps us here. Regarding the compensation and benefits issue, I assume the merger that you are talking about is with OBEC back in the Fall of 2018. First, I will admit that benefits were adjusted on both the DOWL and OBEC side to blend into something different than either of us had before. And of course, there are some that benefitted from this blending, and there were some that may have seen negative adjustments. We worked our darnedest to minimize those, and on balance we tried to sweeten other aspects of compensation (401K contribution, healthcare opt-out bonus, contribution to HSA, year end bonus, etc.). But, I cannot say that in aggregate there were not some that experienced a rollback. I encourage you to speak with your manager about this or those in the PD. Or you can contact me directly and perhaps I can help.
