Pros

Used to be a great place to work at, but since the acquisition of this company by Daifuku, they have struggled to keep pace with their growth plans for Wynright and the deficiencies of upper management to succesfully run a large company are becoming evident.

Cons

At the end of last year and the spring of this year, the company laid off approx. 100 employees after having the worst financial performance year in the company's history. The company is now closing two manufacturing plants and their corporate office in Illinois and are opening a new facility in Indiana. This will affect over 200 employees that live in Illinois that will not/ do not want to move and work at the new facility in Indiana. No relocation assistance will be offered to any of the displaced employees we were told by senior management. Wages have been stagnant in the past three years with no merit increases over 2%. The morale of the employees has been low since the disappointing last year (2017) and the news of the plant/corporate office closing certainly has not helped that issue, it's only made it worse.

Pros

This was a great company to start at. The managers over engineers cared about us. The were a lot better than the small company I came from before this. My peers are all good people.

Cons

While the managers might care they seem powerless to stop the leaders of this company from sending us up a creek without a paddle. We’re being asked to do prjects with very short lead times and with how all manufacturers are operating it leads to frayed nerves and needless work stress. At lunch we all sit around nodding about how this can’t continue but come work time no one wants to talk about how to stop it. It’s a taboo topic that paints you as not a company man. Maybe this starts with sales or maybe no one up top cares since they aren’t involved with it. As more and more people quit the workload gets dumped on the remaining people and now you are doing the work of m ultiple people. There are no promotions since they hire outside the company in almost all cases. Salaries are stagnant. They try to gloss over all the problems with flashy newsletters but at the end of the day this is not the place to make a long term career.

It's important for Wynright to understand how are employees feel as they are the ones that keep this company successful. The company does strive to be fair and consistent across the board when it comes to merit and bonuses.
