Fun place to work

Pros

Totally a fun place to work. The work is difficult, but usually in a good way. It's pretty satisfying to achieve something that's really difficult. I also like and admire my colleagues a lot, which makes a big difference. We have lunch together, play ping pong or board games in the office after hours, and grab a beer from time to time. I've read some of the negative reviews on here, and it just doesn't sound like the place I work. Maybe disgruntled former employees trying to vent. And, no, HR didn't ask me to write this review -- just my honest opinion.

Cons

It's definitely true that sometimes I have to work harder than I'd like to make a deadline (tell me where that isn't true). Salary is only average. A lack of conference room space sometimes prevents proper meetings.

Strong company that cares about its employees

Pros

Market salary (or a little better). Smart, dedicated people. Cutting edge technology. An environment where you can rise quickly if you're competent (although you can also get fired if you're incompetent). The company definitely cares about its employees -- they can demand a lot at times, but they try to make it up to you.

Cons

The development shop was sort of chaotic for a while, but they've definitely taken steps to correct it. Deadlines have at times been unrealistic, but again, they seem to have realized this and are now getting developer feedback before setting deadlines. Internal messaging can get a little cheesy at times. Job security isn't great for underperformers.
