Dropbox has a long way to go.

Pros

- The food is honestly one of the best parts about working at Dropbox. The culinary teams really go above and beyond almost every single day to serve up really unique and high quality dishes. - The office aesthetic is very cool and clean. Dropbox as a company is very design focused and it seems like they took that into account when designing their new office.

Cons

- Cocky attitude about being a "small startup" that thinks they "made it" because they have fancy perks like the other big tech companies - Work/life balance - Very little room to grow within certain teams - Need a lot more process before they'll be successful for the long term - Give managers (especially new managers!) much more training before taking on new reports and build teams - Need to be more transparent in recruiting process into what job will actually involve

Pros

All the free food can't make up for the unprofessionalisim at this company.

Cons

Favoritism is a common theme. Not much opportunity for growth. Unhealthy pyramid-like structure of how things are run. Lack of communication. Lack of training. People gossip negatively about each other, INCLUDING HR REPS. I lost count how many times I heard one of them saying something inappropriate about a current or former worker.

Pros

- There are some good people working in the trenches: smart, fun and easy to get along with - Downtown location (pay to park, though) - Solid medical benefits and meals - Gym & shower in the building

Cons

- Leadership lacking at every level; minimal mentorship or coaching, leads care about how you help them to their number, but not about you as a person - Unclear career path, especially in satellite offices; dozens of people have left for other offices with better opportunities - Bro culture on the sales side with a local "leader" who is unable to relate to anyone not exactly like him - Because of the above point, attempts at diversity are feeble and just for show - No transparency as to how sales quotas are determined; they seem to be picked from the sky - Compensation is not on par with other software companies; if you want to make money as a seller, good luck - Atmosphere is no longer positive and encouraging; morale is low Bottom line: if career progression or sales success if what you're looking for, be sure to ask very specific questions about how leadership will help you get there and use caution; don't let the fluff reviews cloud your judgement
