They make you memorize way too much. They expect you to do work off the clock to memorize hundreds of ingredient mixes and the only reason so many people do it is because they target young inexperienced workers who have never worked anywhere else. That amount of stress and demand should be paid more. You also are in training for sooooo long and it’s really intense. They review you and constantly find faults. It surprises me that so many people love working there. They expect very superficial interaction and a lot of the customers have serious sugar addictions. It felt morally wrong to be handing people some of those drinks that have like 200 g of sugar. You get in trouble for being real and talking like a human they expect you to be fake and way too enthusiastic even when the customer doesn’t want to speak to you.

Dutch Bros markets themselves as a happy and customer orientated company, however this is far from the truth. After working there for three months, I did not see a single person wash their hands...even after taking trash out to the filthy dumpsters. They will advertise positions as full time, but in reality you will never see anything over 20 hours. This company is constantly hiring because the working conditions are extremely exploitative leading to a high turn over rate. You will NOT get any tips during training, and they do NOT give you breaks. You will get your schedule 2 days prior and they do not review your availability. They will tell you it is YOUR responsibility to get your shifts covered.
