Pros

I spent 2 years at EAG Labs gaining the experience and exposure I needed to move on to bigger and better things. My game plan was always to get in and get out after I got what I needed from them. That said, it was a great ride. I’m going to miss my co-workers and managers. This is a company run by incredibly smart people who love what they do.

Cons

I don’t have any cons to list in this section.

I’m glad that you were able to get the developmental opportunities that you expected, as positions at EAG do give you exposure to some of the top companies in the world. It is with a bit of sadness that we could not change your mind, and you left the company as per your original plans but we wish you the very best of success in all your future endeavors!

Pros

Nanolab had its good time - quarterly bonus, yacht party, flexible schedule, family-style start-up environment, and most importantly, lots of experienced technical leaders. It was a fine place (though wlb was not so good I admit) to learn and gain some experience especially if you are interested in electron microscopy.

Cons

Since acquired by EAG/Eurofins in mid 2018, many things have changed: -Benefits got worse. -More and more repetitive works. -While there are much much more works in 2020, pay raise and 401k were paused to cut budget. At the same time, Eurofins stock has increased 50% in 2020. (No we do not have stock options.) -More politics. You may refer to EAG glassdoor page for that... -Most senior tech leaders including all co-founders have left the company. It is very difficult to learn and grow in this environment, thus I do NOT recommend to join if you have an advanced degree. It may be a fine place for you if you just need a job.

Thank you for your feedback. Change can be challenging. We understand, with every start up acqusitioon, there is a transition period for staff to adjust to being part of a larger organization. As the team becomes more successful, our customers send more work to us. We believe in hiring highly educated staff with the skills and commitment to present innovative ways to improve the process. We are proud of the work that we have done to drive superior customer outcomes. This year we began our Career Pathing processes to further enhance the skills of our workforce and to assist in their upwards career development. 2020 has been a tough year for most companies, as they made adjustments to keep their staff, customers and the general public safe. We all experienced the challenge of being compliant with shifting national, state and county guidelines while trying to ensure business continuity. Tough decisions had to be made. And these decisions were not made lightly. However, as you know, in our last “All hands” meeting we announced that the 2019 merit increases for non-executives, which had been previously postponed has been reinstated, with retroactive pay out. We also announced the reinstatement of the 401K match effective January 1, 2021. It was also announced last week that a special bonus was also paid out to thank our essential workers for their many contributions and efforts throughout these Covid times…. We feel confident that we made the tough but right decisions to protect the health of our employees AND the business and we look forward to a strong 2021.

Pros

EAG has one of the best work environments that I’ve been able to work at in a long time. The team is very friendly to newcomers. We treat one another like family. As long as you’re committed to your work you shouldn’t encounter any issues here.

Cons

I would like to see a pay increase sometime down the line.
