Thanks for the review. We’re sorry to hear that you don’t feel like this is a supportive environment. “Team” is one of our core values, and fostering a spirit of cooperation and appreciation is one that is taken very seriously. The company’s rapid growth can sometimes lead to faster than usual turnaround times (and sometimes faster than comfortable!). We’re working with all of our managers to offer tips and tricks on prioritizing and managing workflows so that timelines and deliverables can be met, and that employees’ expectations are realistic.

Pros

Good job for students or busy individuals with hectic schedules, since they have a flexible work schedule. Although you must work on either a Saturday or Sunday. If you like the game of golf this is the place for you, Golf Channel is on most of the time if not a Golf Tournament or Weather on the Tube. If you don't know much about golf this place can accommodate your lack of knowledge of the game by teaching you the fundamentals needed to succeed in this job. When they are really busy they also offer incentives to come in to work on either weekends or your off days, such as increasing the rate of pay & free lunch on certain days. They also throw pretty good Christmas parties at nice locales, they allow you to go party if your working because corporate staff come in and do your job while you drink and party. So in a sense you get paid to party! Aside from that this act gives this job a sense of camaraderie family & team unity.

Cons

If you don't like golf you'll be fed up with golf by the time you leave work. Golfers can be quite rude to deal with on all levels. From the old guy paying $30.00 for his round, to the entitled yuppie ex pro football player from Jersey that's dropping a few $100.00 for his round of golf. If you can't stand pushy rude people & have a short fuse avoid this job. Management can also take advantage of you by stiffing you on your rate of pay if you don't protest. My advice if you find yourself in this situation leave an electronic trail by emailing all those involved. My experience I was doing work which I was not trained in doing, yet when a problem occurred in my work I was at fault. Even after complaining on several occasions prior to this, but I was totally ignored.

Thanks for the review. Flexibility in scheduling is definitely a priority in the EZLinks call center. The ability of our reservation center agents to maintain their professionalism when dealing with golfers on the phone is something we’re quite proud of, and we thank you for the work you did. We’re sorry to hear about your feelings regarding your manager; we provide ongoing training and education for managers to ensure that concerns like this are escalated and dealt with appropriately.

Pros

Opportunity for Advancement: I started on the operations team, and held three different positions over four years of employment there. Many of the colleagues I started with also moved on to other roles within the company. If you work for it and seek it out, the company will do its best to help you achieve it. Fun Atmosphere: Office has a very laid-back vibe, it's easy to have fun and joke around (often with the CEO). There are no "trade secrets" within the company, everyone is willing to offer help/solutions, and to take the time to explain answers to your questions. You get great deals on golf, and many of the employees will go out and play together on weekends (or maybe skip out early on a Friday in the summer and play 9 in the city). Rapid Growth: The company is expanding quickly, and while this has caused some growing pains (office space issues), you can't deny the excitement it generates. It feels like a start up environment, even though the company has been around for 20 years. There are a never ending stream of projects being announced, commenced, or suggested by the employees. You can easily carve out something you take personal interest in and find a way to get involved. As I mentioned earlier, the support from upper management is excellent in this area. I've witnessed many projects come to fruition from a simple: "Hey, what do you think about this?"

Cons

Office Perks: For a while there weren't very many, but they've gradually started to improve this. Providing snacks and beverages is becoming the norm in the industry (especially while the largest and most profitable tech companies now cater breakfast, lunch, and take home dinners). I'm a stickler for snacks though, so this con carries some personal weight. I just think it is one of the simplest and cost-effective ways to make your employees happy, and boost overall morale. Engagement with Industry: Sometimes you forget that it's a golf company. The office could use T.V.'s with the golf channel, espn, weather channel, etc. streaming. Engage more with the game of golf, the PGA Tour, and remind everyone why it's exciting to work in one of the coolest industries out there! The company shows its age a little bit in this area. Their social media feels awkward and dated. They could afford to loosen up and have more fun with it.

Thanks for the feedback, and we’re glad you had such a positive experience! Allowing employees the opportunity to move up by working in different parts of the organization is important to us. When you have good people and hard workers – we want you to stay! Oh, and the snacks are getting better, too!
