Amazing people work here that truly care about you and your work. Any time I have a lot of work I have multiple people that will ask me how they can help and they truly mean it. I get to be my whole authentic self here and I have not had that before. In doing anti-racism I have learned soooooo much about my identity and it has inspired me to learn more about my heritage and story!

Cons

We are a growing organization and with that comes growing pains. As we grow we need more structures and processes to support us.

The organization's dedication to the youth of East Harlem and the impact has been amazing to see as a volunteer and full-time staff. The dedication to professional development around anti-racism is one of the main reasons I joined the team. Through conversations around race and racism, you are not only allowed to be yourself but celebrated for your differences. Students stay at the forefront of all decision making. Many are very open to feedback and showing and improvement when concerns are brought up. I have never worked anywhere that asked for opinions and made efforts to act on them.

Cons

As with many non-profits there is so much work to be done, but not enough time or bodies.

EHTP is a wonderful place to work if you are interested in being in an entrepreneurial environment. Every staff member is committed to the young people of the community and dedicated to developing an anti-racist organization that centers on the well-being and success of our young people.

Cons

This is a place for passionate people. If you are someone who is looking for a 9:00-5:00 or someone who works best with 100% clearly outlined responsibilities, this may not be the place for you.
