Pros

It's a small company, so it's kind of like high school. Folks know each other and are friendly enough. The company itself has started some employee programs that are beneficial.

Cons

No raises in 2 years, management lacks training, folks who are "lifers" have a very negative attitude, there's not much room for advancement, they are more likely to hire from the outside for internal openings. Management is poor, benefits overall are poor. There is no real tuition program.

First job out of college. Good place to learn outside sales skills. not a great place to launch a career.

Cons

the pay isn't great. not a lot of room for advancement. Management are set in there ways. no car allowance.

Pros

Private company. 6 distribution centers across the country. Each is relatively small making you feel like you a part of a little family. Good benefits for full-time and even part-time employees get to contribute to the 401k program. Nice work-life balance.

Cons

If you are looking for promotions you must be willing to relocate between the 6 distribution centers across the country. For corporate management, must be willing to live in Chicago (Headquarters). If you're not a sales rep you don't matter that much. While raises were yearly, the were capped at 3.5%.
