Pros

They hire you for your expertise and respect the contribution you make to the company. You are treated as an adult where you are expected to hold yourself accountable to your responsibilities. They do not demand unrealistic deadlines. They appreciate your constructive criticism and they work very hard on eliminating inefficiencies. I have never worked for a company that values their employees like Cubic values their employees. They have solid reward programs, good benefits, flexible work hours, and have kept their employees working through the global pandemic by finding ways to be relevant in a time of crisis and shut down. Leadership is great at communicating. They encourage constructive criticism and are transparent with changes in the company. They encourage a healthy work/life balance. There have been times where they have asked me to work late but I have always felt it was balanced and respectable. Equally so when the times come where I can't work over. Continuing education is encouraged. Not only encouraged, but leadership in my department has budgeted for it. Diversity & Inclusion. This is kind of a pro and a con for me. They have embraced a D&I culture which is great! They have developed multiple internal platforms that give everybody a safe space to voice their concerns and life experiences.

Cons

There is a culture in leadership of last minute rush orders but there has been strong movements beginning in the company to change that culture from the top down. They recognize this issue and are working through solutions. Leadership has reduced budget in my department and are slow to hire replacements when a person leaves the company but that could also be due to the pandemic. Again, there has been a new movement beginning in the company trying to rectify this concern. Wrangling graphics from corporate comms to subsidiaries across the globe has been challenging but our CEO supports our efforts and we are in the process of streamlining graphics through brand development. Diversity & Inclusion. This is a pro and a con for me. The Con is that there have been times where I questioned a decision that was D&I motivated and not skill or expertise motivated. There have been other instances where a D&I culture has been pushed on to their employees. Some of those situations for me were uncomfortable because I believe the D&I culture can be taken to the extreme. At times it's been "too in your face" and can lose focus on work skill/ethics/expertise. I don't care what you look like, what you identify as, who you worship, etc... If you can do your job well and have a good attitude then yes, please join my team!

Pros

Literally nothing positive to say. Culture in the plant has gone way backward in my time with Cubic. Seems to be driven by lack of leadership in upper management and the relentless abuse of workers in getting parts shipped, while never addressing root issues.

Cons

Lack of any consistency is in vision and purpose from management. This starts at the plant level.
