Pros

Great Supervisor and experienced employees that are willing and able to help you with any questions or concerns. You will learn from online courses and on the job. So expect to work on tax returns and to answer questions that will be above your certified level which starts off at 1. Once you learn and have done returns, everything becomes a process that you can grow in half the time it will take you when you first start. Knowing more than one language will also be an extra boon for you as the company is desperate to have more Plent of Opportunity to grow to higher certified level in the company.

Cons

Like I said you will be expected to do tax returns that are well above your normal skillset. This will be a recurring theme. So be prepared to do some additional learning, reading, and studying. This is especially true during tas season/ Corporate seems to forget about the employees and only want to focus on increasing profits without bothering to look at and improve some serious flaws at the bottom of the business latter which affects everything above it. They want to focus on a platform that will only suit one specific group of employees and take into consideration. They ignore glaring issues that have been the cause of many problems for the offices I have worked in that have been apparently been going on for years. If you don't meet a specific quota of productivity, they will cut your hours on the belief that you are not helping the company. Despite the fact that all employees always keep themselves busy maintaining an office and taking care of all customer walk-ins and calls made to the office

Pros

H&R Block provides thorough training, and employees should expect to study continuously throughout the season. The training is valuable and helps build a strong understanding of tax preparation. There are opportunities to "level up," and advancing through the certification levels can lead to higher pay over time. Management is approachable and readily available when assistance is needed.

Cons

The position is seasonal, and the starting pay is $12 per hour. During peak tax season, employees may work very long hours—sometimes up to 10 hours a day, 6 to 7 days a week—which can be physically and mentally exhausting. In my first month, I also found that some of the staff were not especially welcoming, which made the initial adjustment more challenging.
